Mirrornet distributed mirror
From the abstract:
This dissertation is a prototype of a system which allows individuals to turn their own servers into nodes of a content distribution network, dubbed a “Mirrornet”. This network will allow the pooling of resources in a scalable and fault tolerant fashion and will use the Domain Name System to perform loadbalancing of incoming HTTP requests across the induvidal nodes available, with the mirrored content being available via a single URL.
